Administrative Services
The Administrative Services Department serves many important functions for our Village and maintains several services used by Brown Deer citizens and businesses. Administrative Services include taxes, revenue, pet licenses, purchasing and accounts payable.

Assessor Services
The Village Assessor reviews recent market sales and compares similar properties in our community to set fair and equitable assessments. They are regulated by the Department of Revenue to maintain properties to fair market value. This ensures every property owner is paying their fair share of taxes based on the market value of their property.

Building Inspection
The Inspection Department provides a number of diversified services to the Village, its citizens, and businesses. Our goal is to provide a safe living and working environment, through inspections, that assures building code compliance and provide zoning enforcement to maintain the Village’s property values.

Community Services
The Community Services Department is responsible for the physical and economic development of the Village. The activities of the Department range from maintaining the long range plans for the Village to reviewing plans for new buildings and issuing business licenses.

Fire Department
The North Shore Fire Department works to save lives and protect property through prevention, preparedness, education and response.

Manager’s Office
The Manager’s Office mission is to carry out the policies and programs approved by the Village Board and to provide administrative leadership. The Village Clerk is located with the Manager’s Office and functions as the Clerk of the Trustees and maintains all official records for the Village.

Parks & Recreation
The Village of Brown Deer Parks & Recreation Department offers a wide range of activities. From sport leagues and facilities to youth and senior services to parks and trails, there are hundreds of ways to participate in our community!

The Brown Deer Police Department is fully accredited by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group (WILEAG) and places emphasis on Community Orientated Policing and Problem Solving within the community.

The Brown Deer Water Utility’s goal is to provide our customers with an ample supply of high quality water at a fair and reasonable rate for public health and sanitation in addition to fire protection demands through continual evaluations of utility assets, effective preventative maintenance programs, and efficient daily operations.
