Yard Waste Collection (Residential)

Yard waste collection takes place on 13 designated weeks throughout the year. The Recycling and Yard Waste Collection Schedule (PDF) is mailed to each resident with their tax bill.

Yard Waste Collection

  • Yard waste should only be placed curbside during designated collection weeks.
  • Do not stockpile yard waste at the road as it is a violation of Village Code.
  • Yard waste and leaves shall be placed in one or more sealed paper yard waste bags or 30-gallon containers, clearly marked "YARD WASTE" with a tight fitting cover. Do not seal with duct tape as it does not decompose.
  • Brush placed at the curbside shall be bundled and tied in lengths no longer than 5 feet with cut ends in the same direction and weighing no more than 50 pounds.
  • Any trunks or branches more than 6 inches in diameter shall be taken to the recycling center.
  • Yard waste can also be taken to the Recycling Center during open hours only. Brush does not have to be bundled when taken to the Recycling Center.
  • Green grass clippings are not accepted curbside or at the Recycling Center. Consider mulching or composting.
