Arbor Day Tree Planting…Join Us!

This year’s Arbor Day tree planting will take place on Friday May 12,2023 at 1 P.M. at Village Hall, 4800 W. Green Brook Drive. Continuing our plan to replace Village trees lost to disease, a Gladiator^™ Crabapple will be planted in front of Village Hall along Green Brook Drive. Members of the community are invited to join Village staff to plant and mulch the tree and enjoy a cookie.

Gladiator^™ Crabapple is an excellent ornamental tree with a profusion of bright pink flowers followed by small reddish-purple fruit. Dark and glossy bronze-purple leaves remain lush all season long and are highly disease resistant. Gladiator^™ is an ideal ornamental tree for space-challenged sites including under power lines, as a small boulevard tree, or planted in a row for a screen.

Gladiator^™ Crabapples attract birds and butterflies and tolerate drought conditions. Relatively small in stature but big in visual impact, we are excited to add this tree to our urban forest.
