On Wednesday, December 28, the Village held a swearing-in ceremony for Trustee Jeffrey Woods. Trustee Woods will be completing the term vacated by Trustee Siegrist through April 2024. Thank you to all the friends, family, and community members who came to attend the ceremony. A special thank you to Village Clerk Caren Brustmann for helping with the oath of offices. Holding any public office is a difficult yet honorable commitment. As Village Manager, I greatly appreciate it when members of the public devote their time serving our community. If you would like to contact a Village Board member, feel free to find their contact information on the Village website.
Speaking of public service, I’d like to take this opportunity to encourage all community members to consider applying for a Village volunteer committee. This is a great way for you to begin serving our community, meet other members in the community who share a similar passion, and make a positive impact for your neighbors. You can read about all of our volunteer committees on the website as well as begin applying online. The Village Board approved the adoption of a new committee: the Human Relations Committee. The committee was created to advocate for the rights and values of the community through the protection of human and civil rights. Read here if you are interested in learning more about the committee. Make sure to apply by early April to be considered for any openings on these volunteer committees.
As a final reminder, Village Board meetings will now start at 6 p.m. The next meeting is Tuesday, January 3 and will be virtual. You can access the call-in information on the Village website.
